BIOGRAPHY

Kimka was born April 15, 1987 in Lausanne. Having a Swiss father and a Lebanese mother, a mix of two cultures runs through her blood. Surrounded by artists since a young age, Kimka, song writer and singer, was attracted to music very early on, finding her voice at just 5 years old. She soon took up theater and later piano lessons. Music is her freedom.

Facing the challenge of living with herititary muscular dystrophy, she is dedicated to breaking the barriers between those living with and those without a « handicap ».

In 2005, she had her career debut with the recording of her first duet with Kareen Antonn, benefiting the Téléthon, « Quand on veut, on peut » (« When there’s a will, there’s a way ») and « Marcher dans son cœur » (« Footsteps on the heart »).

In the Spring of 2007, she was honored to be chosen as God Mother of the Little Dreams Foundation, created by Phil and Orianne Collins, benefiting young handicapped and non-handicapped people with artistic or athletic talent.

In October 2009, she participated in the Miss Handicapped competition. Growing up in a multicultural family, Kimka today is focusing on developing a repetoire reflective of her oriental roots, but still includes the French songs which have inspired her since the beginning.
